Memphis Island is a stress toy, an island where you smash perfectly designed and colored furniture without major consequences. Memphis Island is a tribute to the Memphis Group, the Italian design and architecture group founded by Ettore Sottsass.

The original postmodern furniture, lighting, carpets, ceramics, glass and metal objects, created by the Memphis Group around 1980-85, have been 3D modeled from scratch with Blender. 

The colors and textures are loosely inspired by the work of Ettore Sottsass. They are programmed to vary at refresh, appearing different with each visit.

The animation, made with Three.js and Cannon.js, makes the furniture bounce around like an insane asylum padded room. A perfect place to lock up frustrated designers.
